Double bass

Csaba Fervágner began playing the double bass at the age of 17 after intensive cello studies at the Weiner Leó Secondary School of Music. He was accepted to the Liszt Academy at the age of 20.

He graduated in 2005 as a student of Péter Kubina. He has broadened his studies and knowledge through numerous courses at home and abroad and participation in international youth orchestras. 
Since 2003 he has been playing double bass at the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and since February 2013 he has been the principal bassist of the orchestra. 

In addition to his activities at the Radio Orchestra, he has also been involved in the Concerto Budapest and the Dohnányi Orchestra for several years. In 2014 and 2015 he played double bass in the New Hungarian Chamber Orchestra as well. Between 2014-2020 he was teaching double bass in Budapest at basic and intermediate level.

Since 2005, as part of his DLA studies, he has given several chamber music recitals in Budapest and throughout Hungary. His DLA exam concert was in February 2015. After that he has been actively playing chamber music either in duos or in larger chamber groups. He also takes soloist roles in both contemporary and classical pieces.
