Travel from Budapest to Tokaj by train

Trains from Keleti to Tokaj
There are direct intercity trains from Budapest to Tokaj every two hours. The journey takes about 2.5 hours.
Trains leave from Keleti Railway Station (Keleti pályaudvar) at 7:30, 9:30, 11:30, 13:30, 15:30 and 17:30.  Click here to check the timetable and buy your ticket.
Make sure you pay attention to the journey time and the time of arrival. The last IC train that will get you there on time departs at 15:30 and arrives to Tokaj at 18:07.

Ticket price
Your one-way ticket to Tokaj will cost around HUF 4500 (including the surcharges as well). Intercity trains are comfortable, air-conditioned, and second class is fine.
Please note: If you have a Student Identity Card issued in the European Union containing your photo and stating the name of your school, you are eligible for a 50% discount, and you can buy a student ticket costing about HUF 2600 (including the surcharges as well).

From Tokaj train station to CSI Main Building
From the Tokaj train station it will take a 10-minute walk to get to the main building of Crescendo Summer Institute (i.e. the Tokaji Ferenc Secondary School).
